The Oregon Desert Land Trust is dedicated to conserving private lands in the high desert region of the state. These expanses, both wild and working, play a crucial role in ecological, economic, and community well-being. The preservation of Oregon's high desert is essential for maintaining fish and wildlife habitats, ensuring climate resilience, preserving cultural heritage, sustaining rangeland health, and providing public access.


Established in late 2017, the organization has successfully conserved over 20,000 acres of wild and working desert land. Annually, they may preserve several hundred to several thousand acres of high desert, adapting to opportunities and forming partnerships that arise.
