Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you: Whatever we were to each other, we are still. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. I am waiting for you somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well.

Dino, Billy, Dean

This was a quote by Dino in a selfie video he made in December 2022.

He was camping at Conception Beach in Baja, and showing and telling us why he loved it there so much:

"Jacquie's ashes are here. It might be a good place for some of my ashes."

Then he said," Have a good day, Life is Great."

That is now our favorite quote.

I act crazy cuz it keeps me from going insane :)

Dean, Dean, the hugging machine. I was serving up coffee in front of the lodge at Kirkwood Ski Resort in December '93. There was this guy at the end of the drive, by the parking lot, jumping up and down and waving like a mad man at every bus full of skiers that passed by. That guy's crazy', i thought to myself. Flash forward to 2007, and Dean & Jacquie pull up to our house in Joshua Tree in Vaca Loca, whipping a u-turn, parking on the berm, and shouting out the windows. My not-yet-two-year old daughter spoke one of her first sentences then - " Dino cwazy". Chip off the old block. Dean loved people. Within 5 minutes of meeting, he'd find the best of what that person had to offer, and focus on all their good things. Pumping them up, making them feel good. Dino possessed a tireless zest; a joie de vivre non-pareil. He lived life to love and laugh, squeezing as much goodness as possible out of each day. If this is all I learned from him in 30 years of friendship, then I am truly blessed. But that's just the tip of the iceberg........

“Be the things you loved most about the people who are gone.”
