Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you: Whatever we were to each other, we are still. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. I am waiting for you somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well.

Dino, Billy, Dean

This was a quote by Dino in a selfie video he made in December 2022.

He was camping at Conception Beach in Baja, and showing and telling us why he loved it there so much:

"Jacquie's ashes are here. It might be a good place for some of my ashes."

Then he said," Have a good day, Life is Great."

That is now our favorite quote.

I act crazy cuz it keeps me from going insane :)

Dean is my father-in-law. I was married to his son Patrick until his passing in 2008. Dean and Jacquie called themselves my out-laws and Pat’s dad and step-mom my in laws. 🥰 When I remarried I became daughter and Matt their son-in-law. They loved my step-kids as their own grandkids. A true example of “love like Dino.” Dean was with me in the hospital when Pat was pronounced dead. My legs buckled and I fell to the floor. Dean dropped to the ground and not only used his arms to wrap me in his hug but his legs too. Dean Dean the Hugging Machine!

Here is my thoughts for Dean and the life Celebration. Hope it shares the love and laughs I remember so well. Bill Stark aka “Bill from the Ville” here sending you all positive vibes from Kentucky. Dean was the second person I met in JT 2012 on my first visit. Gareth was the first. Dean and I hit it off from the start on my first day and bonded into the evening. We ended up staying up all night talking about life, love and laughter. I was going through some stuff with my family and his words of wisdom showered me in love. When the sun came up Rev. Al climbed out of a nearby tent and said,”well that’s a night I will always remember." He got zero sleep listening to our antics and my life story all night long. The Rev and I still laugh about that to this day. Being my first festival ever, both Dean and Jackie welcomed me with open arms and watched over me. Vaca Loca was my home base and we got extremely close very fast. Mojave Magic at its best. I have so many great memories of our time together including my introduction to his famous "Rasta Pasta”. I was so ill equipped for the desert and starving on day two when Dean told me to go in the camper to find some pasta he set aside for me. I took a few bites and loved it, so Dean told me to eat some more. I had no clue and ended up eating the entire batch. One hour later the "Secrets of the Universe" were revealed to me…Dean did his best to keep my feet on the ground but my soul took flight for the next 48 hours! I bounced around the festival meeting all my new friends and documenting the incredible good vibes. It was a life changer for me. Whenever I saw Dean we would just look at each other and smile for ear to ear. He was without a doubt the coolest dude I have ever met. His laid back, easy going way reminded me of Tommy Chong. His generosity of heart and impact on my life is immeasurable. Dean ended up in a lot of the highlight videos from the festival, I am so thankful for that. There is one very special moment that I captured while Dean was speaking to Rev. Al and Brandon, aka Frederico El Guapo Gomez. Dean was unaware I was back for another festival and I surprised him while running video. He had is back to me, heard my voice, then turned around with enthusiasm and open arms saying, “When did you get into town!” We embraced with a big hug. Seconds later Rev. Al is heard saying, “Don’t show that video to the unemployment office!” I still laugh hysterically when I see it. That clip captures my best memory of Dean and shows the amount of love between all of us. We will always be brothers. My heart still aches over losing Dean. We hope to make it out again this year for one heck of a reunion with our JT family. You all are very special to me and Charisse and are with you in spirit. Thanks for all the hospitality during my stays. It was epic and life changing. I think of you all often and have written about my amazing adventures while in the desert. Prayers and hugs to you all now. I am working on clips and photos to share. Dean, Rev Al, Frederico.jpeg With much love! “Bill from the Ville” and Charisse Stark

One of my favorite stories about my brother Dino. 1969 I was building a Vagaboon Motel across the freeway from Magic Mountain. I was driving home from there on the I-15 freeway. I went past a guy on a motorbike going about 60 miles an hour. Looked in my rearview mirror and the guy on the motorbike was zig-zagging back and forth behind me in my lane. I slowed down and pulled over. The guy on the motorbike pulled up alongside me. I looked over and it was Dino. Pulled over off the freeway, we picked up Dino's bike and put it in the back of my pickup truck. Dino got in and we drove home to my house. When we got home, took out his motorbike, sat it down and his front wheel was flat. If it would have gone flat on the freeway, Dino would have been stuck alongside the freeway. The chance of me passing Dino on the freeway( he was on his way from Humbolt State, to Southern CA.)would be one chance in a million that we would have both there together at that time.
