Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you: Whatever we were to each other, we are still. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. I am waiting for you somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well.

Dino, Billy, Dean

This was a quote by Dino in a selfie video he made in December 2022.

He was camping at Conception Beach in Baja, and showing and telling us why he loved it there so much:

"Jacquie's ashes are here. It might be a good place for some of my ashes."

Then he said," Have a good day, Life is Great."

That is now our favorite quote.

I act crazy cuz it keeps me from going insane :)

Not sure how or why but the creator introduced me to Dean and Jacquie in a snow storm in the Kirkwood parking lot at night ,they were in the RV and invited us dirtbags in !!! We had the best time laughing ,joking and Dean and Jacque had a free spirit Dynamic that I was Mesmerized by and little did I know that we would all remain friends . Dean was a very unique loving caring compassionate man and also a bad ass mountain Ninja hippie !!!!!! I’m so grateful for the experience to walk side by side with dean and really value all his talks and brilliant outlook on life. Dean always let me be myself !!!! We ❤️ ya buddy and know you’re in good hands !!!

I first met Dean and Jacquie and Kirkwood of the winter of 94/95. I had been invited to one of their parties when they had a condo at kirkwood. We were having a great time lots of people were there. Then comes two women from San Francisco with their puppet fois. We each took turns in giving fois a personality and it was the life of the party. But most of all Dean and Jacquie always made sure that I was taken care of if I needed anything. I miss them so much!

My first Festival is a blur now, but it was about the 4th Joshua tree fest, I brought my son, a tent, and a very cheap, flimsy shade thingy from Kmart. It came fully equipped, the poles were the size of chopsticks and made just enough shade to quell the scorching heat, accommodating about 2-4 people and surprisingly it held its own against the desert breezes. I met 6 people that weekend. Al, AmyT the Plaids (aka, the twins who wore cowboy shirts, one wore red and the other wore blue) plus Jacquie and Dean .... better known as Deano. We all huddled under that little shade together off and on, plus the random others throughout the festival weekend. This core of fun lovers became and remain to this day, my very best friends of my Joshua Tree family. Jacquie and I shared so many fun times here at this festival, as well as back in Markleyville, where they lived when not traveling about. She was a beautiful soul inside and out, I later learned that she was a beauty queen in her youth, and that beauty empowered her life in so many ways. She was kind, fun-loving, usually uninhibited, intelligent and she was the love of Deano's life til the day she left this life that she had lived so wondrously. But, if you crossed her, she could and would snap you like a twig, in about 1 sentence to be correct, a moment later, she then would offer you a libation of your choice or a toke, a smile, or a large-breasted hug, her precious gift that came with the wisdom and a lust for her life well lived. Deano, oh my, where to begin... He was Jacquie's yin to her yang, they were moon and stars, peas and carrots, she was the rose to his lapel and the sunshine to his every waking moment until her last breath. Deano was the quintessential bon vivant, always clad in smiles and compliments, always kind to a fault and when he smiled at you, your heart was met with that glint in his eye that said, "I love you" just as you are, "what do you need?" and "how can I help with that". Usually, then followed with a most inappropriately loving hug and the whispers of sweet nothings, lust, and friendship that always let your heart and soul know, that Deano was always in your corner, as a man, a problem solver, and a true, deep, caring and honest friend. Yes, Jacquie is the bulk of my story here, for if you knew Deano well, you knew that his entire life was all about his love for his wife, their life together, and every aspect of his life was all about Jacquie. They are now together, for not a day, nor conversation, or visit was spent without a mention of the better half that was now missing after her passing. Deano was at her side, unwavering until her last breath. They are together again now in the beyond we all fantasize about. I know that so many have that very same thought. I shall forever miss Deano and his loving smile, I shall miss Jacquie and our sweet friendship... both, forever and a day. ..... In loving-kindness and peace
