P22, The cat that changed America was LA's favorite Mountain Lion. He was the most charismatic, beloved, famous and well chronicled puma. He lived his extraordinary life as a solitary male marooned in eight square miles of Griffith Park, in tandem with one of the worlds largest cities. He helped galvanize interest in urban wildlife and spur city dwellers to be advocates for habitat conservation.

P22 is an inspiration to us all.

Watching the night cameras, and trap-cameras that captured images of P22 stealthily moving through the landscape of Griffith Park, was a complete thrill. Living in the Santa Monica Mountains, and occasionally hearing the distant sounds and calls of the wild cats that we share our habitat with is part of the magic and the mystery of living here.
